Grand family tradition in our family to wrap and card inappropriately. The tadpoles are quite used to receiving “Happy Chanukah to my darling grandson” from their uncle for their birthdays, so really it is just an extension of that.
In truth, none of the presents are wrapped in “Christmas paper”. Some of them are in plain green tissue, and some are in Chinese paper lanterns that were never made up. The lanterns do have green and red illustration, albeit Chinese and therefore not really even nominally Christian. They also present (ha! I kill me!) a challenge to wrap using T-shaped bits of paper.

I often end up using Christmas paper for birthday presents all year round. After all, the leftovers are just sitting there gathering dust and it’s so much easier than making a trip to the shops! I do try to avoid using the stuff that actually says “Merry Christmas” on it though. Last week, when buying this year’s stock of wrapping paper, I deliberately chose 3-packs that had rolls of plain colours in with the patterned ones. Planning ahead you see. lol
