A week or two of full time work is about to begin. The work pants are mended, the childcare arrangements altered, the kid prepped, and the Bloke is readying himself for a week or two of juggling and cooking. Now all I need to do is get my sock needles back so I have commute-knitting ready. Sometimes you just have to turn everything upside down for a bit to remember why you usually do things the other way.

good luck and enjoy the freedom, relative, of the work place and hopefully you’ll all finish the fortnight relatively well fed, and in some comfort!

Just make sure you look up from knitting in time to get off at your stop (that’s if you haven’t fallen asleep – I find full time work so tiring on the rare occasions that I do it)

Thanks Kel.
Perhaps I should set the alarm on my phone ThirdCat? Getting there is ok, train people will kick me off when we get to the city (and then I will get a tram, why oh why did I take a gig in St Kilda Rd? No one from north or west of Melbourne should take a job in St Kilda Rd. It feels like it’s central and convenient, but it isn’t), but on the way home I may inadvertently end up in Bendigo. At least there is a good curry place in Bendigo, not too far from the train…

Stomper Girl
My friend who went back to full-time work after having children said work is definitely easier than looking after kids all day.

She’s right Stomper. The hard part is getting home, getting the dinner on and keeping up with the laundry, and missing out on directing the kid’s activities during the day. What with catching the train just after 7am, I’m gonna miss almost all of the kid’s awake time Monday to Friday. But hey, they’re paying me!

Good Luck,
St Kilda Rd… they had better be doing more than paying you, they had better be paying you well unless there are some other fringe benefits.
Kind Regards
Belinda

I live so close to work that there’s no way I could knit… even if my son was driving. 2 minutes and we’re there.
(Yes… I know we should walk but we’re never ready early enough in the morning. By the way, I really like the beanie from a few posts ago.)
